Our Trip to Mbuji-Mayi - Leaving This Wonderful City

At the end of the Stake Conference we had to rush out to catch our plane back to Kinshasa.  We stopped by the new mission home to make sure the current tenants would be out by the following week so they would have time to get it ready for the new mission president and his family who will be arriving on July 1.

It is common for the CAA flight from Mbuji-Mayi to Kinshasa to be cancelled at the last minute and our flight was no exception.  Because we had to get back to Kinshasa to catch our plane back to Johannesburg the following morning, we had to charter a flight.  This is our ride back to the big city of Kinshasa.

Elder Cook took a picture of us inside the plane.  It was a smooth 2 hour ride.  We had made dry peanut butter sandwiches for everyone for dinner on the plane, but the pilot had brought us the most delicious sandwiches on sweet french bread that reminded us of home.  We are grateful that the French taught them well in Kinshasa because the bread and pastries were delicious.
